333 Packing Method

What is the 3-3-3 method?

The 3-3-3 method is a guideline to help you streamline your packing list by choosing 3 tops, 3 bottoms, and 3 shoes. If you read the 5-4-3-2-1 method post, this method is the slimmed down version.

Start your packing list by considering the following questions:

What will the weather be like at my destination? What activities will I be doing? Will I be on my feet often? What is the “vibe” of my destination? Will I need to take public transportation?

The answers to these questions will inform what you pack!

Here’s what I am planning to bring for this fictional weekend getaway in late spring weather:

3 Tops

  • Linen button up
  • Short sleeve wool top
  • Button up wool cardigan

3 Bottoms

  • Skort
  • Jeans
  • Black trousers

3 Shoes

  • Boots
  • Sneakers
  • Flats

Then you can add your other single items from other categories:

  • 1x Dress/Formal Option
  • 1x Set of PJs
  • 1x Swimsuit
  • 1x Jacket
  • 1x Belt
  • 1x Pair of sunglasses
  • 1x Day bag or purse
  • 1x Umbrella, trench coat, or rain jacket

Don’t forget your under layers:

There you have it, the 333 method. I hope this list helps you pack lighter on your next trip. Remember, less is more!
